If you would like to join Camerata Singers, you are welcome to come to several rehearsals to see if this is the choir for you (See Membership fee below for further information). We meet on Tuesdays in term time, 7.30–9.30pm, in the church rooms, Fuller Baptist Church, Kettering NN16 8JB. We don’t hold auditions, but most of us read music at least a little.
Our three annual concerts draw on mainstream choral works in the autumn and the spring and we perform something lighter in the summer. In recent years, we have sung music by Karl Jenkins, Mozart, Bernstein, Brahms, Rossini, Fauré and Rutter, as well as a wide range of songs from Cole Porter, The Beatles and even Abba. We have also sung at the Kettering Eisteddfod and performed at the festival concert. Our concerts are generally held in local churches or village halls. To see more about music we have performed click on the Archive tab above to view past concert posters.
Choir members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and give notice when they will be absent.
Membership fee is just £40 a term. The subscription helps pay for hire/purchase of music, soloists and players for our concerts and rehearsal and concert venues. New/prospective members may attend three rehearsals, to find out whether they wish to join the choir, before the subscription is payable.
